Tuomas A. Laitinen is an artist known for mixed media installations and video works. Laitinen has shown work at the Moving Image Art Fair, New York, the 5th Cairo Video Festival, and in 2018 at the 21st Biennale of Sydney.
Thermoscene was a series of events that Tuomas A. Laitinen organised as part of their solo exhibition at contemporary art gallery Sinne in 2017.
For the first event, Tuomas wanted to pair two artists and thus the collaboration took place. For us, this was a highly inspiring experience. To respond to the nature-culture-tech scenery of the exhibition, we decided to use mushrooms to trigger the samples from the composition we created for this event. Nora read their text live, set in two different parts within our audio piece.
Later, we used recordings of their reading, and the piece we made, for a song titled Trying To Live (unpublished).
