It was a revolution, yes, it really was: slowly but surely, black markers replaced white chalk, while the whiteboard replaced the blackboard. No one yet knows what the pedagogical, psychological, sociological, indeed political, and even—we’re at the pinnacle of modern hierarchies here—economic effects of this reversal of a centuries-old (What am I saying!
