'Decolonist Meditation I' by Katie West is on view in the Pierre Kemp Lab until the end of February.
Katie West (b. 1988, Australia) is an interdisciplinary artist who views her practice as a way to develop modes of being that renew human connections with and within the natural environment. To this aim colonial histories are reconfigured and decolonised futures are imagined in response to global environmental concerns. Her recent shows include Perth Centre for Photography; Next Wave Festival 2016, West Space, Melbourne; Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney; Blak Dot Gallery, Melbourne; Dissect Journal, Melbourne; and the Kadist Art Foundation, San Francisco, She holds a Bachelor of Art in Visual Art from Edith Cowan University and Bachelor of Sociology from Murdoch University.
