Info

CGXC is a recent work-in-progress. It's composed of a mix of several movements from the late 1980s-onward; from the typographical experimentation of Grunge, the incorporation of computer-generated and manipulated imagery of April Greiman-style graphics, and a watered-down corporate-friendly version of both early 1990s rave flyer graphics and artistic experimentation with computer graphics (eg. Wired Magazine). It seemed to be the go-to style to appear contemporary, especially for companies in industries associated with the booming fields of the era (web, multimedia, telecommunications, biotech, etc.) Certain loose but still somewhat restrained fonts like FF Meta, Template Gothic, Rotis, Din are associated with this aesthetic, modified with Grunge-lite treatments like extended underlines, blur, translucency, displaced/distorted stroke, weights, and sizes. These are paired with images that are sometimes heavily-saturated, warped, blurred (motion blur especially), overlaid on-top of each other with various photoshop effects applied. Recurring colors are 'acid/infrared vision' versions of green, yellow, orange, and purple.
