Embedding blocks within other blocks (when text oriented) would be really really cool. The thing that convinced me to join and use this platform was how that works out on their blog. The idea of being able to stitch and weave content (like I do on twitter) is what I wanna do here. I'm going to make it myself if are.na doesn't get there first.
Basically, I think we need more levels of traceable meta. Tagging of tags or contexts of contexts. I've seen people create 'channel of channels', But what we have now doesn't quite jive with this idea because it gets clumbersome. "Why can't I hold all these limes" or something.
I think the issue is the channel/block metaphor breaks down a bit when it comes to clustering and grouping ideas for me. I think there needs to be an intermediate system that isn't a first class citizen like a channel, but isn't an individual item like a block. Embedding blocks & channels in other blocks would allow for that rough clustering - and perhaps lead to narrative flows like how my threads work on twitter. We need more strange loops.
I imagine it looking like their blog posts. I love the way reading them feels.
In the end I am imagining it like project xanadu, or that weird Pilgrim tool they worked on.
