CONCEPT STATEMENT
Here we form a queer spiritual space, transgressing binaric hierarchies to transverse in-between worlds, laying across strange fictions and fantasies. By binaric hierarchies we mean: culture/nature, human/non-human, mother/father, male/female, animal/plant, real/surreal etc. etc.
This video is pressed against the primacy of sex and birth - unveiling the spirit of transformation. We embrace metamorphosis, rebirth, and reincarnation as the purest, most honest state of life, rather than categorical thinking.
What matters beyond form? Inspired by the Faggots and their Friends In-between Revolutions, Donna Haraway, Annie Sprinkle, Beth Stevens, Kim Tallbear and others: inter-species love and more-than-human kinship fantastically color our eco-erotic world. Flower fondling, egg cracking, teat suckling, petals falling, sap dripping. Lotuses in the mud. We morph.
People, big cats, flowers, and mystical lore come together to present a nonbinary-lesbian birth story. Beginning with un-immaculate conception in the dirt; we are finally born from the ocean. Messy.
You’ll watch two real slugs suspended from a tree branch, spiraling into each other, becoming a single flower, glowing iridescent blue. There is no mother and father. Just lovers.
