Writing became this ultimate act, the only thing that could make any regret worthwhile, any experiences exciting, all the sadness and tears tasteful. Writing became an alibi for failing and trying, an excuse to overcome and suffer again, just for the sake of writing.
To see them being happy again, at the precise moment where things collapsed for you. Remember. You never thought about it, never thought about them when you were the one on the high. It's each in turn, and you have to embrace it. Fair practices.
