I’ve also always found a lot of power in completely rejecting everything anyone thinks or says and just assuming any source of authority is necessarily the stupidest voice. It’s the fuck-everyone voice. In my head, I’m like, Well, fuck everyone. I’m gonna pursue the thing I’m actually really excited about. Because it’s my life and I only get one, and this is the thing I’m giving the world. I’m not gonna do it to please anybody else. Because people don’t even know yet what they want to read. To me, it’s about having integrity in the material and putting that above needing to please random people.
