Question 13
Question 13

i have to remind myself; i'm making music with no precedent. don't worry so much about what they sound like now. the songs will evolve and grow, giving way for a clearer voice throughout the process.

"meaning comes as the last process of speaking, of connecting words, after feeling, after intentionality"

Everything is beautiful and I am so sad.
This is how the heart makes a duet of
wonder and grief. The light spraying
through the lace of the fern is as delicate
as the fibers of memory forming their web
around the knot in my throat. The breeze
makes the birds move from branch to branch
as this ache makes me look for those I’ve lost
in the next room, in the next song, in the laugh
of the next stranger. In the very center, under
it all, what we have that no one can take
away and all that we’ve lost face each other.
It is there that I’m adrift, feeling punctured
by a holiness that exists inside everything.
I am so sad and everything is beautiful.

Adrift

A great work of art is like a dream; for all its apparent obviousness it does not explain itself and is never unequivocal.

"if you find a conversational partner who’s willing to get a little weird, you can use the room you’re in to build a shared memory palace. when you discover an interesting train of thought, you “place” it somewhere in the room. pretty soon, you’re literally surrounded by the convo

the weird thing is you can come up with new connections or concepts by physically moving/dancing between the landmarks in your mini memory palace

you’re basically setting up an infrastructure that lets you see ideas in visual form before you know how to translate them into words"
