Type Trance
Trying to breakdown the language of type, and the role of GCD within Cinema, I started to focus on quick experiments that aimed to breakdown the vocabulary of film genre-type. How decisions are made to match the font to the film etc. Initially, I chose to break down my films, and their credits slates; into genotypes and type families
BY creating GIfs at high speed, I used collective types to almost trance out to, noting how each visual change impacted the next type, and the treatments that became disjunct - this idea helped me to focus on the treatments of type as to represent a genre and identifying typographic patterns that have become symbols of specific film types.
