Platform for People Affected by Mortgage Green Book

What is the PAH?

The Platform for People Affected by Mortgages (PAH) was born in Barcelona in February 2009 with the aim of building a citizen response for those people who were unable to pay their mort-gages and whose banks were demanding repay-ment of a stratospheric amount of debt even after they had lost their homes. Now, almost 5 years later, the PAH is a non-par-tisan citizens’ movement comprising more than 190 nodes across the Spanish state, in which people directly affected organise along-side others in solidarity with them to denounce and change the situation. The PAH takes action in many forms - from the emotional to the political; media-facing, legal, public communication and beyond - to seek changes in the law that respond to the human rights violations suffered by those affected; and, in a wider sense, the PAH’s actions propose solu-tions that make the right to housing a reality for everyone
