Whilst the physical aspects of a solo trek are mostly manageable, it is all to easy to dwell on low-probability/high-impact risks such as a thundering avalanche or running into cross-border smugglers. In reality the most likely risks are more mundane: a debilitating case of the shits, a light wound that becomes infected, or a sprained ankle or broken bones.
