Hans Holbein the Younger and Reformation Bible Production | Church History | Cambridge Core

Hans Holbein the Younger (1497-1543) contributed to a greater number and a greater variety of Bible editions than did any other artist of the early Reformation. Although only a partial compilation, the bibliography of Holbein's book illustrations in Hollstein's German Engravings, Etchings and Woodcuts tallies some seventy-two Bible productions, in seven languages, that used his artwork.
