110. Public Library as Digital Archipelago
110. Public Library as Digital Archipelago

The Toronto Public Library is the largest and most widely used public library system in North America. Babel is a digital platform seeking to connect this extensive network of over 100 branches to bring educational programming, cultural events, and the TPL’s recent Digital Innovation Hubs initiative to all branches across the city. By stringing together these physically disparate spaces through virtual portals, Babel promises to facilitate a true exchange of culture and ideas between distant and diverse individuals without relying on physical transit.
