139. Art Everyday
139. Art Everyday

Andrea Andersson, The Helis Foundation Chief Curator of Visual Arts, describes the Contemporary Arts Center New Orleans as "an institution sited at crossroads of European histories and those of the Global South." Interested in the ways creative practices manifest in civic and communal spaces, Andersson's curatorial work and writing explore the social life of art-making. At IdeasCity New Orleans, Andersson discussed curating as a version of lexicography, the study of the art of compiling dictionaries, languages, information sets, and how people access them everyday.
