Take a look above at the forehand of Karen Khachanov. Notice his odd wrist contortion and that his hand is completely under the racket handle at contact. Khachanov is using a Western grip, a nearly 180-degree shift from the Continental forehand grip of say, Rod Laver, one of the game's icons from the past, who placed his palm on top of the handle.
