Living, working and writing as I sit here on Ohlone land (Bay Area, California) and just grateful that I'm alive and well despite the world being un-well.
When the shelter-in-place mandate was declared on March 16, 2020, I decided to keep a Day One journal (app) and only writing daily events (i.e., meetings, classes, etc.) as well as birthdays, and memorable moments of each day. But limiting myself to only 50-100 words for each entry. While I keep a physical journal, I wanted to something that was specifically meant to be and serve as a log during this specific moment of global healthcare crisis and economic downturn. It's been easy and simple to keep track. While I have no idea what I will do with this information, it reminds of the things I've done and the people I was in conversation with with little to no context. But it also reminds me that there are billions of people, like me, just trying to do our best with whatever we've got.
