Texas absentee ballot deadlines
In Person: 11 days before Election Day.
By Mail: 11 days before Election Day.
Voted ballots are due: Postmarked by Election Day and received by the day after Election Day.
Texas absentee ballot rules
You may vote by absentee ballot in Texas if:
you are 65 years or older;
you are disabled;
you will be out of the county on Election Day and during the period for early voting by personal appearance; or
you are confined in jail, but otherwise eligible.

If you are a first-time voter and you did not provide either your Texas drivers license number or Social Security number on your voter registration form, you need to include a copy of photo ID with your application (disabled persons are exempt).
