Dada and the Arts of Africa: a Radical Primitivism?
The relationship between the Dadaists and the arts of Africa differs from the Primitivism of their predecessors and from that of the Surrealists with whom it, however, has strong links. This talk aims to take another look at the differences and similarities between Primitivist trends in the 1920s, concentrating particularly on the use of photography.
