Find Balance in Consumption and Creation

www.instagram.com/ronnie_lee/ on instagram — Even before the pandemic, Americans are now spending 11 hours each day consuming media. 11 HOURS!! We consume much more than we create. When those two things become unbalanced, it can lead to feelings of despair and lack of control. You can lose a sense of purpose and control and time can easily pass by. You know when you’re checking ig one last time at 10 and now it’s midnight?

When we’re doom scrolling (more in the post!), it can also lead to analysis paralysis and lack of actual action. In a practical sense, if we spend close to half our waking hours consuming, what energy do we have to create? What time do we have to sit with our thoughts and process information? How helpful are we?

Hopefully these slides can help you take a step back and curate your living experience to one that empowers you and motivates you to do your best work. When we feel empowered, we feel invested in co-creating the best world that we can.
