The strength of any particular ideology is in an inverse proportion to its referent -- meaning it preserves a remote object in our minds, failing to adjust to a changing landscape. The problem and power of ideology is that it's efficient. It takes the load off of the senses and doesn't require individuals to make new patterns/models. The problem and power of ideology is its nostalgia. It says that what you see is not in fact the real -- it's simply an illusion. Underneath what you sense is an old pattern -- the powerful will reveal the pattern to you!
Ideologies help us to forget our senses, I mean literally our senses. Imagine how effective these are, then, to anyone who lives in a physical hell.
