Slow Thoughts Network is a slow discussion forum that prioritises reflection over distraction – like an oasis in the attention economy. As a contrast to the immediate and FOMO-oriented norms of social media, messages are delivered only once per day. And instead of relying on hashtags, the community corresponds on only one topic at a time. To further optimise the conditions for reflection, posts can only be written in offline mode.
As a part of my degree project in visual communication, this was the result of a search for how we can design communication platforms that counteract the negative effects that many people find with today's platforms.
