Always design a thing by considering it in its next larger context: a chair in a room, a room in a house, a house in an environment, an environment in a city plan.

We create our living spaces, and then our living spaces create us. Behavior is a negotiation between us and our spaces. But the design of common living spaces, including bedrooms, kitchens, and living rooms, are rarely done with behavior in mind.
