We should ask the following questions as a thought experiment:
What makes a cell functioning/alive?
What makes information functioning?
What are the essential parts of a cell that enables it to "live"?
What are the essential parts of a block that makes it more functioning?
How and why cells connect to form tissue, organs and organisms?
How and why blocks could connect to form actionable knowledge, solutions, changes in human thinking and behavior?

Questions For Thought Experiment

If we continue to explore the analogy of an organic cellular model for Arena, we should model the block on the structure of the cell. All the editable fields and functions could symbolically relate to a functioning cell (e.g. nucleus, mitochondria, chloroplast, cytoplasm) We should ask what makes a cell functioning and what makes an information unit functioning. This is why I addressed the issue of enhancing exported blocks that are often without vital elements such as title or description. Symbolically I take a 'nucleus' from you and by adding more parts it becomes a functioning cell.

Theoretically, a basic channel could serve as a neutral environment where you can keep cells organized, separated. But the greatness of arena's potential will lay in the possibility to put different cells into special environments in which they aggregate, connect and form new organism.

Modeling Blocks After The Cellular Stru…

II Aggregating Channel:
Similarly to the Augmenting Channel this channel imposes an environment that allows blocks from separate channels to be linked.
For example I can link an image file with a book excerpt, a song, a lecture, etc. All those blocks are part of different channels, but when they are dragged into the Aggregating Channel they will be linked and after the linking is completed each block will be able to reveal their block to block connection.
