The ambient is unparsed. It is vision created from memory rather than observation. It does not demand a second glance–the form never registered. In this way it is not assumed to be apolitical, or atonal. Rather, it is made so by default. Without surfacing, it can be no other way. Due to this quality, the ambient is accepted, permitted and folded into conscious streams of imagery. Not camouflage, it appropriates unconscious form by living within modalities of assumption.
