This aesthetic existed primarily from the late 1980s to the mid 1990s, contemporaneous with the peak popularity of gothic-inspired pop/rock music, Tim Burton, and the graphic design work of Margo Chase, Vrontikis, and a bit of Vaughan Oliver. Dramatic interiors, curtains, velvet, wrought iron, plush seating, furniture with exaggerated forms, romantic movement influence, stained glass, candles, gold+red+black+blue+purple+rich green, glass baubles, jewels, those little table fountains with built-in fog machines, crystal balls, celestial iconography, heraldic suns, moons & stars, witch, court jester, medium, mystic, tarot, and wizard iconography, Wicca, rich textured surfaces. Fashion-wise: lacey clothing, jewelry with celestial themes, sheer fabrics, velvet, similar color palettes to the interior design side. Very popular in the fields of furniture (Andre Dubreuil, Garouste & Bonetti, Mark Brazier Jones), product, fashion (Thierry Mugler & Alexander McQueen) and interior design. Some definite Baroque, Rococo, and Art Nouveau influence as well, it's a postmodern mélange of styles. (Formerly titled 'Whimsical Mystical Gothic Celestial')
