Had author Zena Cumpston come in to talk last Thursday in the Testing Ground's space. One thing she talked about was the "disaster-porn" peddled by a lot of prominent ecologist and scientists when discussing climate change in the public sphere. In her view it was disadvantageous to the goal of the climate movement, scaring people hasn't worked. It has made me reflect on my project, whether it could be categorised as "disaster-porn", how it will help the movement. I want to ensure the project is a celebration of country as well as serving as a warning of the impacts of climate change on the landscape.
