I find myself pondering this inner dilemma daily,

to sell my'self' (is to kill myself spiritually, mentally, emotionally)
or to prioritize myself (is to kill myself professionally, financially into precarity)

which is better, which is worse?

and how do I stop playing this game that I had no choice but to partake in?

The daily routine of most adults is so heavy and artificial that we are closed off to much of the world. We have to do this in order to get our work done. I think one purpose of art is to get us out of those routines. When we hear music or poetry or stories, the world opens up again. We’re drawn in — or out — and the windows of our perception are cleansed, as William Blake said. The same thing can happen when we’re around young children or adults who have unlearned those habits of shutting the world out.

being 'offline' is also turning into a performance I think. rejecting social media yet having awareness of style and the current lexicon of detached irony utilized by internet artists is viewed as a sign of good taste.

to win is to have the right opinions/tastes/aesthetic curation without having to copy it from an online artist. its as if to signal that you intrinsically know or glean fashionable knowledges without online influence bc of the status of ur inner circle or ur innate propensity for good taste

Every man is the sum total of his reactions to experience. As your experiences differ and multiply, you become a different man, and hence your perspective changes. This goes on and on. So it would seem foolish, would it not, to adjust our lives to the demands of a goal we see from a different angle every day? The answer, then, must not deal with goals at all. We do not strive to be firemen, we do not strive to be bankers, nor policemen, nor doctors. We strive to be ourselves. But don’t misunderstand me. I don’t mean that we can’t be firemen, bankers, or doctors... but that we must make the goal conform to the individual, rather than make the individual conform to the goal. Beware of looking for goals: look for a way of life. Decide how you want to live and then see what you can do to make a living within that way of life.

| Hunter S. Thompson

When you’re deeply sensitive, love is ecstasy. Music is godlike. Heartache is a wide, somatic wound. Visual natural beauty is jewel-drenched, wild bliss. Tension and conflict are muscle tightening and toxic, straight down to the cells. So how do you hold it all? You rinse, re-centre, and remain clear. You recycle your sensitivity by propelling yourself and others to create waves of change in a super starving world. Direct your passion by spreading your heart only across what clearly matters most. Surround yourself with the souls and spaces that groove alongside your own- the ones that also desire to chase the beauty, courage and freedom we’re all here to teach each other. Choose love over fear and let go of all the rest, breathing what isn’t best for you straight out of your bones. Remember-there is power in the body. Harness it for the greater good, and allow nothing confusing, peace disrupting, or hurtful stand in its way.
