Award winning documentarian and NO EVIL EYE CINEMA co-founder, Ingrid Raphaël, is proud to announce the opening of their debut art exhibition, Pitch Blue, a multi-textural synthesis of the artists' Afro-European familial archive, transnationalist histories, and ephemeral landscapes that bleeds into Raphaël’s understanding of themselves as a African, as an Alien, and as an Artist.
Pitch Blue takes its lexicon as the union between sound frequency and color imagery. Pitch is the frequency of a sound whereas Blue is a color and a feeling: a longing, a sadness, a contemplation.
Pitch Blue invites us to feel what we see and what we hear.
Pitch Blue operates as a mirror unto participants who are invested in excavating themselves in participation with the artist.
Pitch Blue utilizes photographs, weavings, sculpture, cartography, foraged plants and seashells to capture the dimensionality of their transient-alien identification.
Pitch Blue is the unification for all nomadic, indigenous, and alien peoples to gaze upon the universal pitch blue sky.
