"Parallel School is based on the idea of non-institutional, self- organized education in the broader context of art and design. The idea is that anyone around the world, whether currently a student or not, can create a new type of school, parallel to existing ones and their models of education. Parallel School is thought to serve as a structure to share knowledge, to connect with other individuals and to initiate projects. It works on an “each one teach one”-base, which means that everyone who participates in a Parallel School workshop is also a teacher and will be contributing a workshop of their choice to the group. This has the bene t of everyone actually becoming involved in teaching and learning alike and thus taking upon various responsibilities and positions."
