"Dear Saeedah, thanks for your question.
The answer is: You have become the captive of your mind.
Being your mind's captive, you are now at its mercy. You are no more truly free for instead of being its master, you have become its servant. You are completely under its control.
Living in a state of low awareness, you have been misled by your mind into believing that your thought is the true representation of you, your being. Over time, this belief has turned into a strong habit, becoming your close friend.
The moment you are not otherwise productively engaged, the mind will start chattering with you, feeding and entertaining you with all kind of thought.
That is why you find comfort in it - in fact, you are so attached or addicted to it now that you literally cannot live without it. But beware, unchecked, this “disguised comfort" will eventually lead you to the fantasy land of illusions, detrimental to your wellbeing.
To get out of this disempowering situation, you should stay totally in the present in a state of high alertness and awareness, denying your mind the opportunity of chattering with you.
With best wishes, love, srchin."
