In our world today it is extremely hard to differentiate truth from lies, which is something most people in society struggle with. Accepted deception is a trend which makes up the shadow world we live in. It focuses on how frequently we are exposed to false information and how quickly we are willing to accept its falsehood, without raising too much concern. The lyrics I have chosen for this task are from a bang called Skeggs.
“I can't see through these eyes at times
How the picture really sits
It's hard without a frame
To understand how big the picture is
Just how big the picture really is
And if it fits”
The truth behind it all
What goes on behind some closed doors
I'm just standing here on the ground
But my head's always up in the clouds”
This fits perfectly with the theme of accepted deception, it describes how hard it is to understand the world in which we live in. The “truth behind it all”, reveals that it is so easy to believe in nothing in our world today because so much information is fake and very far from the truth. The lyrics also reveal an acceptance of the falsehood in our world by saying “I’m just standing here on the ground, But my head’s always up in the clouds”, which can be interpreted as a carelessness about these particular problems and how it is the new normal.
